Water color sympathy leaves

Anything goes at Simon for Wednesday Challenge.
I water colored some stamped leaves from old SU stamps.  each layer is run through a textured embossing folder.  It gives the top layer a canvas look.

Butterfly Delight

GKD is hostessing an Ombre look this month.  I've made a pretty cloud sky with a stencil going from dark to light with Starlight Crisp Ink and a stencil  The sentiment and butterfly are from GKD Springtime Silhouettes from a few years back.  Still one of my favorite kits.

Flowers and lace

Old farm houses remind me of flowers and lace curtains.  Captured in this card for Simon's Monday Farm Challenge.
Using Prisma pencils on Kraft with Desert Fire embossing powder for outline.  Nuvo drops, of course.

for this large stamp i just colored with various Tombow markers and gave a very very light spritz of water from high up.  Added some clear Nuvo drops that don't show up too well in the photo.
Down on the farm there are always beautiful lush morning glories growing and little wrens are so sweet thrilling us with their songs.

a small cuttlebug folder???

Stop the presses.  I watched a video that showed how to use the little square cuttlebug folders that have been languishing in my craft space for twenty plus years.  How to use them without getting the folder lines around them when you run them through your Big Shot.  I used my MFT stencil to create a swiss dot background qualifying this for the Simon Says no DP challenge.

Wildflower Sympathy

Entering into the color challenge for MFT

My photography skills and lighting leave a lot to be desired.  I have used a light gray base with a pinkish/salmon colored layer for the Peach Bellini.  It's difficult to tell that in the photo. My Blue Breeze is picked up in the clouds and Cornflower is the focal color.  This wild flower set from MFT truly is my most favorite set from them. Such a nice soft palette.

Sigh

Sympathy cards seem to be my most used category.  It makes me a bit sad and then I remember that we are blessed to have so many friends in our lives.  Many of our friends are losing their parents and siblings.  It's what happens at this age.  I have a need to get a lot more of a stash of Sympathy cards to be prepared.  Does that sound morbid?
Supplies:
MFT Bold Backgrounds
MFT Wild FLowers
Distress inks

More no DP

This challenge with Simon Says Stamp had me pulling out my stencils and once i got going with them I had so much fun.  With this one I used a very large Heidi Swapp open stencil and dropped very minute portions of color burst in the different areas.  Spritzed with water and used a wet brush to move the color within the stencil lines.  It was a joy to use Martha Stewart STENCIL spray adhesive.  FINALLY i was able to use a wet medium with this open stencil.

SSS no DP

Stampendous TH stencil with Ranger Victorian Velvet and Peeled paint distress inks stenciled on.  I stamped and masked my flower in the corner with full intention of coloring it. When i peeled the post it masking from the stamped image i  loved the way it looked as is. Happy Surprises.  Simon's Wednesday no DP challenge

Flamingo Farm

Simon’s challenge is down on the farm.  I’ve never seen one but I’m pretty sure somewhere there is a flamingo farm.  Aren’t they so stately?

peace

IMG_9836 (734x799)Peace!  Isn’t this a peaceful scene?  It’s for the MFT color challenge.  I wanted to use these laser cut trees that were from leftover holiday cards from my husband’s place of work.  Since MFT says we don’t have to have the exact colors they posted I thought maybe this time they would forgive me for using kraft instead of the gray they pictured.  I used their stencil called Snowfall.  It gives me great pleasure to recycle things.

Anything Goes #5

IMG_9764 (714x799)Perfect timing for an Anything Goes challenge at Simon.   I have a little two sided holder at the side of my workspace that gets all the bits and pieces of things that didn’t get used up through the year.  They just didn’t work with what I had planned for the creation i was working on.  I like to use them or toss them at the end of the year.  This creation found all these little pieces that i made into a cluster.  The Friend is a little label sentiment.  The heart is vellum and i finger dabbed Victorian Velvet distress ink onto it and added crackle paint.  I ended up really really liking this card.

Anything goes #3
