i didn’t make many halloween cards this year, i didn’t turn the porch light on, i didn’t look at any little kids and say awwww….i really just simply did not care about this fantasy holiday at all. sometimes life just overwhelms me and i have no energy for the external stimuli. I did however enjoy the process of making these two halloween creations for my adopted grands that are 5 and 8 years old. I copped out of the candy and put money in the card instead. it can help pay for the dental work they’ll need after eating piles of candy.
alrightee then, this is a real downer of a post. just wanted to get these cards recorded. Happy whatever holiday is next to for you!! i hope to make some happy cards today and improve my mood.improve my mood.
Some years you just don't have it in you, no need to apologize. I think these cards, especially the scarecrow head balloon. We had 10 trick or treaters this year (we moved so we had no idea what to expect). Joe was so excited. We had way too much candy so we'd hold out the bucket and tell kids to grab. They were very reserved, no one went for giant handfuls. I was impressed.
ReplyDeleteI just love that spider with a witch hat. So creative and cute! THe paper behind her is so yummy! Your scarecrow is as cute as can be. I love the raffia! I am sure the parents are most appreciative of the money! When my kids were really young I bought back the candy and gave them a DVD or whatever they wanted most at that time (can't really recall) It was fun dressing them up but I can't say I am sorry to be done with that particular phase of our life! No trick or treaters here. No cards even though I did buy a black cat from Unity. I wish I had created a card now that I think of it! Hugs sweet friend!!! So glad you were able to get these out and blogged!
