O IS FOR OLD

O is for Old...Old Fashioned is what I chose.  ABC Christmas Challenge Using that same sweet little gal.  Isn't she cute in her little miniature frame?  I think I've only used that Memory Box die once before.   The scallop die cut is retired from Sweet N Sassy stamps.  I get a lot of use out of that.  To give a bit of texture to the background i used that white ink pad through a MFT stencil. I decided to go a little nontraditional with the color and I like the softness it gives this image.

N IS FOR NEW

N is for NEW at ABC Christmas Challenge this month.  I'm using a new pack of plaid designer paper.  I just love plaids especially at Christmas time and the diagonal print really caught my eye.  I'm using this sweet little girl from Door County Rubber Stamps.  I used a new to me technique by embossing the designer paper with and embossing folder and then going over it lightly with a white ink pad.  It was enjoyable to make this card without rushing at holiday time.  Thank you ABC for helping us with this aspect of the holidays.

M is for Music

This card for ABC Christmas Challenge came together so nicely and I really love how it turned out.  I always say I never know what is going to come forth from my hands when i begin creating a card.  M is for Music.  I used a sentiment with the word Music in it.  Stamped on a postage style die cut.  I stamped the manger image in black and  blended some blue ink over it. I fussy cut out the baby in the manger and laid it over an already stamped image.  Added some glitter gel pen in silver for the aura and barely colored the face in Prisma.  A touch of gray prisma outlines the babe in the manger.   I think I will make a few more like this and use up the rest of that designer paper I've had hanging around for twenty years.

L is for Little

ABC Christmas Challenge is such a great place to play along and get your holiday cards made all through the year.   This month L is for little.  I used a small image and also a very small sentiment.  Small trees adorn the patterned paper on the bottom.  I've always admired designers who can blend two different kinds of patterned paper together and bonus points if they come from two different packs.   I quite like the way this turned out.  I used a gold gel pen to trace over the pierced line the scalloped die made.  It's my way of doing faux stitching.

J is for Joke ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE

J is for Joke at the ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE isn't this little froggy from Unity stamps (Cuttlebug Frog) the cutest little guy?  He should be saying HOPPY holidays.  Keeping it simple so he stands out.  I used the partial die cutting technique to let his feet hang off the die cut.

K is for Kraft ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE

K is for Kraft over at ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE BLOG I used a kraft base, cut out a layer and stamped with Ranger wood plank stamp. It's adhered leaving 1/8th inch edge all around.  The image is Stampendous.  It is stamped and then cut out leaving just a tiny border around the frame.  I liked the over hang of the branches.  Colored with prisma pencils I enjoyed the finished look.  Thanks for stopping by.

ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE "I"

ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE "I" is for inky.  I used distress ink in fired brick mixed with a bit of tea dye to stencil my bricks with MFT stencil.  Then used some off brand stamps I bought at a rummage sale.  Lesson learned.  They didn't stamp very well but I am keeping this card.  Someone will appreciate it even if i think it is less than stellar by a long shot.  I embossed the stamped images and sponged around the edges, added a bit of splatter and I have a Christmas card mess that would remind you of Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation.  The whole movie was a mess but the intentions of the main character were good.  LOL.  Thanks for stopping by.

ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE "H"

ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE "H"  is for HO HO HO. I had fun making this card.  I didn't have any stamps with HO HO HO on them.  I could hardly believe that.  Well, maybe I do have one hiding somewhere.  I decided to cut and piece together HO from the word HELLO.  I used some very old My Favorite Things sentiment dies.  I used prismas for coloring and added real fur to the hat for fun.  Thanks for stopping by.

ABC Christmas Card Challenge "G"

G is for Glitter.  I used Ranger self adhesive glitter paper to cut out these sweet bells from Stampin Up.  (retired)  Fancy little bows top them off and a sentiment from Taylored Expressions complete this fun card.  I had heard that this was THE best glitter paper to use.....uhm.....you wouldn't believe the time I had getting those little pieces of holly leaves out of there.  I wasn't so impressed.  LOL  we all learn.

ABC Christmas card challenge G is for Glitter.

ABC Christmas Challenge "F"

F is for Fussy and Fancy.  I decided to to Fussy Cut this charming little elf with her fancy wrapped packages.  I added strips of gold to give a little more Fancy.

ABC Christmas Card challenge is always great for kick off ideas.  I like getting my holiday cards done before the busy holiday season gets here and then I can focus on other things.

ABC Challenge "E"

E is for Embossing.  I used a Tim Holtz Ranger embossing folder on Coredinations paper and sanded it a bit to allow the core color to come through and pop the letters a bit.  An old Prickley Pear stamp and die made for a fun hanging element.

Thanks to ABC Christmas Challenge for the suggestions and hosting our creations.

CAS for ABC

What's easier than die cuts.  This clean and simple card is for the ABC Christmas Challenge.  I used all die cuts added a couple of rhinestone gems and it's done.  C is for CAS

D is for distressed.  It looks like I missed the linkzy date but that's okay.  I used my distress tool on the one and distress ink on the other and the background sentiment paper letters look rather distressed on the mouse one.

B is for Christmas Bulb

Technically this is an ornament.  But they are called bulbs too aren't they?  The ABC Christmas Challenge is B is for bulb.  How about bauble?  Does that work.  Thanks for stopping by.

Prickley Pear Love

The ABC Christmas Challenge is something I have always enjoyed.  I didn't need cards for the last two years as I had made so many previously.  I decided to jump back in with them for inspiration this year.  A is for Anything Christmas.  I really really like my little Prickley Pear stamps from long ago.  I hardly ever use them.  They needed some love.

ZigZag Santa

Playing in the ABC Christmas Challenge for Y and Z.  Z is for zigzag.  I had so much fun creating this Santa with Tim Holtz Bigz die simply called St. Nick.  I think what i used as his hat fur was supposed to be his face.  I'm not real sure.  But he looks okay to me.  I used stencil paste and a stencil from  Penny Black on black cardstock for the zigzags.  Sentiment strip is Taylored Expressions Simple Strips-Christmas.  Those are a delight to use.

Also entering into Simon Says Santa Monday Challenge

Christmas Swag

ABC Christmas challenge has been a favorite of mine to get ahead on my holiday cards.  I did so many cards the last two years I didn't need to make any last year or this year.  I decided to start early for next year and joined in the Y and Z challenge with them.  Maybe I'll back track and get some ideas and get ahead for next year.  Unity Winter Apple Blossom set with Stampin Up sentiment strip.  Random scraps of paper.  Y is for Yummy.   (something to eat)

Frugal Stencil

The background is a spritzed layer of a stencil I used with The Crafters Workshop stencil butters by Ken Oliver.  The colors came through metallic shimmery even on the spritzed version. It makes a nice background for these Bold and Blooming flowers from Gina K Designs.  I found the hinges pre-cut in a stash of things on the corner of my desk and they seemed to fit a garden theme.  Entering this into Gina K Designs June 2021 challenge to make your own background.

Gina K Butterfly

Entering in GKD September challenge for fall.  I rubbed my ink cube over the embossing folder prior to running through the Gemini.  I received this image in a grab bag long ago and it seemed perfect for this challenge.  I have seen lots of colorful butterflies this fall.

Lovely Lily Pad 3 ways

In January I spent enough $$$ with Stampin Up to receive several free gifts.  This Lovely Lily set and the dies were in that category.  I absolutely love creating with these.  So many beautiful ways to use them.  Here are three of the same back ground technique and then different application techniques with the flowers.

Spritz water onto water color card stock in various coordinating shades. add shimmer powders and color burst powders sparingly. tip paper and spritz with more water letting colors move freely on the card stock. dry with heat tool if desired. add stamped and colored die cuts.
