NBUS

There’s a lot of NBUS in my stash since Christmas time.  I won this set of stamps and dies at the vendor show in November and haven’t had a chance to use them yet.  With all the flower dies going around i think this must be right on trend.

I had fun making this and it started with the SMILE that was a leftover part from the tag i made. I used some DP from the Paper Studio called Denim and Jeans.  I was also able to use my Bokeh dies from Simon, another NBUS item and i opened my gold Nuovo drops, more NBUS.  Maybe i will add some more flowers to this.  two more down towards the bottom.  We’ll see how i feel about that tomrrow.  Thanks for stopping by.  This may be my last post for a bit as we have a two week vacation coming up soon. I plan to take some images and my Peerless water color papers with me.  Sit in a cabana by the pool and color the day away.

Tag it

IMG_8912 (699x800)Just to be clear, this  picture is taken on a blue piece of cardstock.  It is not mounted onto the blue.  This was fun to make and play with a bit of collage items.  I used multi medium gel to adhere the tissue paper and crumpled cardstock directly to a white card base.  Next i made the tag after coloring the flowers with distress inks and doing no line coloring.  I love my MFT sentiment dies and i popped some pink behind this to give it some “pow”.  I added a punched tag circle and twisted my twine around a thin stylus to make the twine curly.  The butterflies were sitting on my desk waiting to be used and so I did.

Thanks for stopping by.

SIMON SAYS WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE 03-01-17

digging

I was doing some digging in my stash to find old DP paper to make some envies.  I found this blue and white flower piece of 12x12 and had to cut some off for my envie.  Of course if it’s a scrap and it’s laying there; i feel compelled to use it.

I found this great sentiment stamp from Stampablities and these cute little feet.  I knew right away what i wanted to create.  It came out even better than I had planned because i used that scrap of paper to give some added interest to the front of the card.  I took the rubber off the wooden stamp and cut the feet apart so i could stagger them like a person was walking.  I used Memory Box shadow ink for the footprints.

I’m playing in MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge and I made my own scalloped border with a rectangle die and a scalloped die laid inside it so i could get an even regtangle instead of trying to cut all the sides even.

I used a Spellbinders border die for the curved edge.  Tim Holtz heart die.

fun with emboss resist

I saw this technique on GKD videos and thought it would be fun to try with the new MFT Fancy Flowers set that is still new to me.

I used my MISTI to position the stamps and white embossed them.  Next step was to sponge with distress inks.  I wanted to play in the Wednesday Sketch Challenge for MFT and i added a frame over my sponged background.

I cut the butterfly out of a scrap of DP that i had hanging around.  Adding a bit of smooch liquid to it to give it some sparkle and it’s the perfect touch.
