Simon Says Stamp #157

I wanted to play in Simon’s Work it Wednesday challenge for the month.  The challenge was to use Exclusive Simon products on the card.  I have been wanting to try this double sided adhesive paper for quite a while now and just got my hands on some last week.  I don’t know what I was expecting.  It wasn’t this but I love how it turned out.  I did the YOU first and was like WOW!! but then of course, I realized I had to pull off the rest of the adhesive around it and, uhmmmmm…that would leave that portion all sticky. I decided to go two-tone glitters.  Then for the other side I chose the scripted font and opposite colors.  I have had this diagonal striped piece that I made with the Simon Diagonal Stencil hanging around since way long before Valentine’s day.  I thought I was going to use it on one of my V cards but alas, nothing seemed to work out for it.  I had so much fun making that piece.  It worked perfectly to cut the scalloped border out of.  I had to pink and red together because I love the combo.  I SHOCKED my elderly sister-in-law and she laughed, yes, laughed at me because when we went traveling together last spring, I wore a red scarf and PINK shoes.    Well, that would be me in a nutshell, defy convention!  Who says, I can’t wear red and pink together.  I wear it with confidence and everyone is jealous!  Open-mouthed smile and shocked!  Well not so much in today’s world but in the world I grew up in, yah!!Surprised smile

  1. Really nice. Pink and red are a great combo. The card makes that clear.

  2. Having seen the tutorial on glitter and having done a bit of this in the past, I just added that double stick paper to my wish list. I LOVE what you've done with it here. Yes, I'm willing to try this technique again even though it involves loose glitter that gives me the heebee geebies!
