Summer masculine birthday

die cuts can be so fun to play with.  i’m so glad for who ever turned me on to them.  Thought i would try a little emboss resist with some kraft paper.  I saw some pre-embossed kraft at Hobby Lobby but knew i would never use a full pack of the stuff.  why not do my own in what ever pattern suits me?  It was stars for this one.  Tim Holtz stencil.  I used transclucent embossing paste and sponged with salty ocean distress ink.  going from light to dark.  added some stickers (use your stuff, ya know)  the anchor from Whimsey is cut out of a piece of halloween paper and sponged over.  sentiment banner is from Spellbinders.  one of my faves.  love to do the embossing thing, leave the die in place and sponge over it.  it’s a great look.

Entering this into Simon’s Monday Nautical challenge if the linkyz is still open, that is. IMG_8530 (675x800)
