Christmas in January #52, #53

IMG_3489

My first holiday card for 2014.  Maybe, just maybe, this year I will make cards a bit at a time instead of waiting til the last two weeks before Christmas.  I always seem to have a difficult time though, making wintery cards in the summer.  Maybe because I get sick of making wintery cards all winter.

Anyhoo….I still had this die cut stocking sitting on my table and I didn’t want to throw it away.  So stamped it up, colored it, added a bow stamp, the scrap of bough left over from one of the other cards today and a scrap of designer paper.

For the embossed back ground, I very carefully laid it in my embossing folder and then ran it partially through.  I opened it and adjusted the piece so I could get the frame size to fit this small piece of card stock and partially ran it through from the other side.  It worked.  I am entering this in two challenges. Simon Says Emboss it and ABC Christmas-anything Christmas

SUPPLIES:

IMAGE: Entire card is Prickley Pear Stamps

BG PAPER: scrap from Creative Memories

DIE:  Impression Obsession

EMOSSING FOLDER: CUTTLEBUG

COLOR MEDIUM: Copics

  2. The stocking looks like you did that rubbing thing (I'm sure it has a name) to make it bow outward in the middle giving it some dimension. Anyway, it's looking good. And yes! Just think of all these Christmas cards you are getting done already but using all your stamps. I can't make winter or Christmas cards in the summer because it is too hot. It makes Christmas seen unreal.
